WHAT IS

 FALUN GONG?

Falun Gong is an ancient Chinese spiritual discipline of the Buddha school, with the moral teachings of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance

Falun Gong (also known as Falun Dafa) consists of a meditation, and four gentle exercises with the core values of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. Falun Dafa teaches that these are the most fundamental qualities of the universe, and takes them to be a guide for daily life and practice.

By 1999, Falun Gong had grown to become the largest and fastest growing practice of its kind in China. In just seven years since its 1992 introduction to the public, an estimated 100 million people were practicing Falun Gong worldwide.

In Asia, spiritual practices of this variety are often referred to as ways of “cultivation,” or “self-cultivation,” and form an integral part of classical Chinese culture.

Through consistent and dedicated practice, the student of Falun Gong comes to achieve a state of selflessness, greater insight and awareness, inner purity, and balance—the deeper workings of what might be called true health.

Falun Gong is practiced in society, students of all ages live their life's like every one else- going to school, getting married, raising children, and doing a wide variety of careers. As a result, a student of Falun Gong often becomes a more patient family member, a more positive employee, or a more active and positive member of society.

WHY IS FALUN GONG

PERSECUTED IN CHINA?

Fadu and all the family practiced Falun Gong in China, they grew to be happier and healthier and also became more truthful, kind and patient. Then in 1999 the leader of China became jealous of the large numbers of people practicing Falun Gong in the parks in China and decided to change some of the rules.

Suddenly, no one was allowed to do these exercises any more in China. Fadu's family felt very sad and could not understand why they were not allowed to do the exercises in the park any more.

So Fadu's father wrote a letter to the Chinese Communist Party's leader Jiang Zemin, explaining the benefits of Falun Gong. However the leader refused to understand and sent some police to collect Fadu's father.

Jane and Fadu never saw him again. He was killed for his beliefs, which was to be a better person and follow the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance.  Countless numbers of children in China today have become orphans, or homeless as their parents are put into forced labour camps and prisons for practicing Falun Gong.
